Aston Martin DB11 & DBS Turbo Rebuilds
Inspection-led rebuilding for selected 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbo DB11 and DBS applications using Mitsubishi Heavy Industries TD05-family left/right assemblies.

A Rebuild Decision Built Around the Actual Pair
The twin-turbo Aston Martin V12 uses side-specific MHI hardware. These units are valuable enough that preserving serviceable original housings and application components can make strong business sense—but only after the left/right numbers and internal condition are confirmed.
We start with readable tag photographs, vehicle year and model, symptoms, modification history and images of both turbochargers. Teardown then determines whether the cores are suitable for a standard rebuild or require additional hard parts, machining or replacement options.
Aston Martin V12 TD05 Pair Rebuilds Starting at $4,500
A clear public starting point for eligible customer-supplied pairs, with final scope based on the condition of both units.
From $4,500 per pair
Aston Martin V12 TD05 pair rebuilds start at $4,500 for eligible, rebuildable customer-supplied cores. Final pricing is established after teardown and inspection. Damaged wheels, shafts, actuators, housings, machining, missing parts, prior non-standard repairs, shipping and taxes are additional when required. No additional work is performed without approval.
A $295 pair inspection and teardown fee applies if the repair is declined. The fee is credited in full toward an approved rebuild.
MHI TD05 V12 Turbo Families
The references below identify a known left/right family. Aston Martin supersessions and model-year differences still make tag verification mandatory.
MHI 49378-01950
One side of the selected 5.2-liter V12 pair uses a TD05H-06H family assembly with application-specific housing and control hardware.
MHI 49378-01960
The opposite side is not assumed interchangeable. Position, housing orientation and full tag information are recorded separately.
TD05H-06H family
Internal and external configuration must match the complete MHI model designation rather than a generic TD05 label.
What We Inspect and Document
The inspection separates reusable application hardware from components that no longer meet service limits. Each turbo is tracked individually while the pair is reviewed as a system.
- Shaft and turbine wheel condition
- Compressor wheel damage and housing contact
- Bearing, thrust and sealing system wear
- Center housing oil-path and heat evidence
- Turbine and compressor housing integrity
- Wastegate and actuator configuration observations
- Left/right numbers, prior repairs and missing hardware
Dedicated Major Repair Kits Are Available
Separate major repair kits are cataloged for the identified left and right MHI assemblies, giving these applications a sound foundation for professional rebuild work when the rotating components and housings remain serviceable.
Hard-part availability still varies. Damaged wheels, shafts, actuators, housings, machining, missing components and non-standard previous repairs are documented and quoted separately before additional work begins.
Operating Context Matters
DB11 AMR, DBS and tuned vehicles can operate under different thermal and boost demands. Send the exact model, tune, boost target, fuel, exhaust, cooling changes and prior turbo history with the request.
A rebuild restores approved mechanical condition; it cannot correct an oiling fault, control problem, engine issue or calibration that operates the turbo outside its intended range.
Before You Ship
Which Aston Martin models are considered?
Selected DB11 and DBS 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbo applications are considered after the MHI numbers on both physical turbo tags are reviewed.
Do both turbochargers need to be sent?
Yes. The pair should be inspected together so left/right wear, contamination, hardware and prior repair differences are documented.
Are 49378-01950 and 49378-01960 the same turbo?
No. They are related side-specific units. They are tracked separately and must not be treated as interchangeable without complete application verification.
Can you give a final quote from photos?
Photos and tags allow an initial review. Final scope follows teardown because housing damage, wheel contact and internal wear may not be externally visible.
Do you work with independent Aston Martin specialists?
Yes. TurboRebuilds supports owners and specialist shops nationwide with coordinated inbound and return shipping.
Start with both MHI tags and the complete operating story.
Submit vehicle details, symptoms, modifications and photographs for application review.
